After documenting the installation, I sat down with muralist Saba Hamidi (@madebysaba) to talk about how this massive, double-sided mural came together in the heat of the Mid-Atlantic summer. She shares her inspiration, what made the project meaningful, the importance of the artist team and what it was like to be welcomed by local communities throughout the process.
